By downloading, installing, or using the ShareSifter iOS application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
2. Description of the App
ShareSifter is a stock screener and financial research tool that allows users to:
- Screen publicly traded stocks using filters such as market capitalization, P/E ratio, and price change
- Search for stocks and ETFs by ticker symbol or company name
- Track a personal portfolio watchlist
- Use pre-built and custom screening strategies
- Generate on-device AI research summaries (on eligible devices)
The App is designed for informational and research purposes only. It does not execute trades, manage investments, or provide brokerage services of any kind.
3. Not Financial Advice
The information provided by ShareSifter — including stock data, financial metrics, AI-generated summaries, screening results, and strategy descriptions — is for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing in the App or on this website should be construed as:
- A recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security
- Personalized investment advice
- Tax advice or legal advice
- A solicitation or offer to buy or sell any financial instrument
Always conduct your own independent research. Consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or attorney before making any investment or financial decision.
4. Data Accuracy and Market Data Delays
Market data displayed in ShareSifter is sourced from Alpha Vantage. On the free data tier, prices and financial data may be delayed by 15–20 minutes or more and may not reflect real-time market conditions.
We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any data displayed in the App. Financial data can contain errors, omissions, or discrepancies.
Do not rely on ShareSifter data for time-sensitive trading decisions.
5. AI-Generated Content
ShareSifter includes an optional AI Research feature that generates text summaries about stocks using Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework. AI-generated content:
- Is produced automatically and has not been reviewed or verified by a financial professional
- May contain inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information
- Does not constitute financial advice or a recommendation of any kind
- Should be treated as a starting point for your own research, not a conclusion
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any data displayed in the App is accurate, complete, or current.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:
- Investment losses or financial losses of any kind
- Loss of data or portfolio information
- Decisions made based on data, AI output, or screener results from the App
- Service interruptions or data inaccuracies
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).
8. Apple App Store Terms
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms govern with respect to your use of the App Store and your device. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or handle claims related to the App.
9. Intellectual Property
The ShareSifter name, logo, app design, and all original content are the property of the developer. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the App without written permission. Market data displayed in the App is owned by Alpha Vantage and its licensors.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Florida.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. All remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
